We have the rumblings of the storm at the moment. Not sure whether it will hit or go around us. There is lots of thunder, a few sprinkles of rain and a very welcome cool breeze. It was hot for our little part of the world today. Not hot, hot like the rest of the world gets. But hot for here. I think it topped about 30 degrees and the air was warm. I have to laugh at complaining about the heat considering that I grew up a South East Queenslander when days of 40 degrees were common and the accompanying humidity was murder. We also never really had a winter. If the temperature dropped to 20 degrees then it would be time to get out a long-sleeved t-shirt or something for the evenings. One of the reasons I love this place so much is the 4 seasons we have. So I am not complaining about summer, just rather, when it finally does arrive, it is a bit of a shock. You get used to covering up and keeping warm and forget about how to deal with the sun and the heat. I remembered to put sunscreen on my face and shoulders but forgot my back – so in doing my numerous laps of late I have ended up with a sunburnt back, bum and back of the knees. That is proof of how hard I have been working in the pool!
I hope the storm hits. With lots of heavy rain. My front door is open, and I am ready for a breeze to cool the house down. It is lovely just thinking about it.
Day 11 of the challenge. Something I have not really spoken about when I created this 30 day challenge for myself in my head, is that I had also signed up for a 5 day juice challenge with Joe Cross of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead fame. (Any excuse really to spend some time with him). I had no intention of posting a juice every day as I did not think that would be very inspiring, so I made a few extra recipes in the first 9 days of my challenge to share this week. However I simply had to share this juice recipe as it was absolutely amazing. It is a combination I would never have thought to put together; it was like a liquid dessert. I am taking absolutely no credit for this recipe; it is exactly as provided by Reboot with Joe. Definitely try this one – I am looking forward to having it again tonight!
